We had always talked about getting a Great Dane, so when we came across one with a name that had always been in our family we couldn't pass up the opportunity. Abe was a perfect fit for our family. At first he was very anxious, but always such a good loving boy. We fell in love with him the moment we had a meet up with him and his foster parent. Not sure if he fell immediately in love with us but he eventually became comfortable and loving with us, especially Meghan. Those two were best pals from the start and grew an unbreakable bond. Abe wasn't too fond of males but he was forced to love Seth and it worked out perfectly. He took up half the bed, ate us out of a home, slobbered all over the walls at times, and shed like you wouldn't believe…...he was simply perfect and we loved every single aspect of him. Abe will be missed and thought of every day. So many people got to know Abe throughout his life. If you were fortunate enough to meet him, you loved him. He was such a handsome and great definition of what a Great Dane is. We hope you are somewhere pain free and running around with those that we have lost in the past. For the next several days we will shed tears of happiness as we tell stories about him and shed tears of sadness because we miss him so much. A huge thank you to all the vet staff that have taken such great care of Abe throughout the years. To one of the greatest dogs any family could ask for, we will always love and miss you Abe the Babe.
